Caves are rare and precious things. Cavers...even more so. Treat each accordingly.

Spain
MTDE - Amazonia, Club, Nino(children's caving harness), Picos, Varonia

Well, I'll be.......MTDE still makes the Picos. It is hands down the most comfortable harness I've ever owned, I was bummed a couple years back when I couldn't find a replacement.

Lots of options for harnesses out there. So far, all of these manufacturers have english versions of their sites.

Need to keep an eye on Phoenix from the UK. Sounds like they are now making gear just like Dragon did. No harnesses yet though.

I've always liked the design of the Picos harness. Some day I'll have to borrow one and try it out.

Nice work on listing the various caving harnesses, Rick. Now you just have to add pictures (or links)... :big grin:

How about Karst Works? They make the Expedition Harness, sold by Bob and Bob.

I think this is Geary Schindel's creation. He posted something about harnesses here on the forum a few years ago. I've never personally seen or used one, but the design has an interesting 'twist' (pardon the pun).

I didn't know if that one should be posted or not. Is it still made? I couldn't find a website fro Karst Works...that's why I didn't include it.

EDIT There are still several Karst Works products listed on Bob and Bob's site...so I added the harness to the lineup.

NZ-
I think you've seen one (ncrc union hill and possibly also virginia) - just probably don't remember it. I'll bring it down to metone if you're interested in seeing it.
Geary got me set up with my first set of vertical soft components when I was out in TX - it really helped me out making that vertical transition. He has a variety of interesting design aspects with his equipment.

I just bought my first real caving harness after using my black diamond rock climbing harness forever. I bought the ONrope1 goliath expedition and I love it.

Good one. More confy than MTDE Picos, at least to me. Much easy to adjust and readjust even when you hanging on rope.
