1200' PMI Rope on eBay

Postby Scott McCrea » Nov 3, 2009 3:34 pm

This is not my auction and I know nothing about the rope or the seller. Just passing it along. Buyer beware. I wouldn't buy it, fwiw.

1200' 11mm PMI Classic, blue. It is off the spool and tangled. $500 is the starting bid.

I feel for the person that buys that. I don't think I would care too much for untangling 1,200 feet of rope.

That depends on how you'd use it -- i.e., whether you'd purchase the 1200'
in order to make several shorter ropes: pulling out some 1-300' e.g. should
be not so bad, in this rather firm, unflexible rope, just somehow cast into
a clump. (You want trouble? --> try untangling a few hundred feet of 5/16"
longline beached after the sea has had some months of continuous twisting
of it around pieces of conch pots & their snoods (connecting lines)!
Call it therapeutic :tonguecheek: )
