Hi,
Does any one of you guys have a nice file where I can learn some pulley system techniques, just in case someone gets an injury and needs to be pulled out safely...

I would also recommend checking out courses offered by the National Cave Rescue Commission. The NCRC offers several courses. An OCR (Orientation to Cave Rescue) won't cover rope work typically. But if you can get to a weeklong you'll learn quite a bit. Or if you can get someone locally to do a Small Party Rescue course, that may be off value.

While the post that Scott posted is a good one (I know Ken and he's forgotten more about ropes than I'll ever learn) I think he'd be the first one to say that hands on practice is really necessary to understand how systems work.

It's one thing to know how to rig a 3:1, it's another to do it in a cave when none of the rigging spots are ideal and your buddy is in pain.

Here you can download a free book that has a lot of info about hauling systems. Definately worth a look.

pick up a copy of alpine caving techniques. Most the the techniques there are Frog-system specific, but they do a really good job of covering small party rescue techniques
c'mon, you can fit through that
