Hi,
I am in the market for a harness (currently using the clubs Petzl Fractios) currently I am looking at either the OR1 Goliath Frog Harness or the PMI Pit Viper.
Does anyone have experience with these harnesses?
I like the wide straps and option for waist padding on the OR1 Goliath frog but I am wondering about this harness's lack of abrasion protection and the fact that the buckles don't have the strap turn back abrasion protection I am used to seeing on other harnesses.
The Pit Viper has all the abrasion protection I want but a higher attachment point for the central mailion, and thinner straps
The caves around here have considerable potential for harness wear and I want my harness to last. I guess what I am asking is how important is a low attachment point to a frog rig(I know it's desirable but how much) and how high is the Pit Viper's attachment point compared to the Petzl Fractio and / or the OR1 Goliath Frog?
I am currently leaning the way of the Pit Viper.
PS: Petzl harnesses seem expensive so I am staying away from them and the Pit Viper is basically the same as the Superavanti anyway. The metal rings on the Fractio tend to let my D mailion rotate which I find a little unnerving and annoying on a long pitch.
