I like the idea of the "textile interface." As they say it would add some lift height. It would also reduce the amount of hardware one mihgt need to carry. Anyone seen testing of this interface?

It's interesting that the sides do not meet. This makes it easy to insert the rope but it looks like the sides would get squeezed together by any force when it sits in an oval pulley as they've portrayed. And it doesn't look like it would sit well in a D-carabiner.

To me it just looks like a different version of the petzl fixe, but with the added benefit of the becket like thingy on the bottom. I would assume the fixe would have a similar issue with loading the fixed sheave against anything with a curve in it, like a carabiner. I think the breaking strength is probably related to the sheave itself, though this is just a guess.

I do wonder though, would the longer profile of the pinto interfere with a basic ascender when using it in a progress capture system configured the way petzl recommends for the fixe?
