Rugged HD GoPro due out soon

Postby cavescom » Sep 30, 2009 5:10 pm

This camera is due out soon http://www.goprocamera.com/hdheropreview/ specs seem to indicate lowlight capabilities and ultra wide capture. Should be a good one to try out underground.

Camera is out now and I will be buying one soon. Wonder if anyone here has any experience with it.

I was talking with a friend who is an avid GoPro user and he said that low-light performance is awful. I'm not sure if he is using the newer, HD version, or not though and that may make a big difference. I'll try to find out from him what version he's using. Also, given that cavers aren't really used to taking production quality video in-cave it may be that what is 'bad' for regular daylight users is passable for us cavers.
