The WV Cave Conservancy is producing a brochure about its goals, accomplishments, and properties, and we need a few nice, well-focused, well-lit photos, photos to jazz it up. This is what I have in mind:
--Cave Critter. I figure a salamander or a cave crayfish. (preferably positioned horizontally, or that fits a rectangular format well, or at least not cropped so that it is a vertical photo)
--An entrance of one of the WVCC properties: Persinger entrance to Benedicts, Maxwelton Sink, Lightners Entrance to McClungs, Island Ford, Donandsons. Preferably with a caver. The space reserved is about 3" square.
--Nice passage shot with a stream or waterfall, and perhaps a caver or two. A plus would be cavers surveying, doing scientific work, or conservation/restoration work. Preferably in a WVCC property, unless it not a particularly identifiable section of passage. The space reserved is about 3" square.
--Formation/s. Preferably a close-up shot of one or a few formations rather than a large group. One that will catch the eye on the cover. Or send me another photo you think is worthy of the approx. 3" x 1.75" photo box on the cover! Try me!
Of course the subject should not be identifiable as having come form a cave other than one owned or managed by the WVCC. Groups of helectites or soda straws, for example, are pretty generic. A large wall of formations may not be. The audience is cavers, landowners, and the public.
