video cam/monitor for cave dig

Postby pebblepoint » Jan 22, 2009 6:30 pm

I'm trying to get set up to sneak a camera thru a 2-3" air space to see what's on the other side of a dirt bank. Too far, no dig.
I've had sewer cameras, burrow cameras, fishing cameras and security cameras suggested. I need for it to be under $200, to be able to reach for 40-60 feet, low lux (although I can tape a mag light to it), tough, and a suitable monitor that I can put in a small pelican case. Can't afford to make purchasing mistakes. Any experience out there?
Thanks.

or

stick a digital camera (that can record) and 3 watt torch beside it on a stick and start filming.
