Crossed that bridge many times. Haven't been there since November, so I guess I am overdue for another long crawl to fabulous cave.

I was on that bridge in March. Great cave and great landowner. I understand why the bridge was built but I miss the "old route". The bridge certainly does make the trip "safer" though.

Blue Spring Cave - in central TN. Awesome cave . . . I've been there at least a dozen times. . . there are parts of the cave that I know I'll never see as the cave has over 30 miles of mapped passage.

On my last trip there I saw a "new to me" part of the cave. The owner of the cave is a really great guy.

how far is it from the TAG on the mountain site? The fall cave-in is the only time I get up that way.

Hmm, I've never gone there from the Cave-In site. Probably around 3 hours.

Take an hour off if you are running with lights and sirens!

Ya I don't think my work would be happy if I took my work truck to TAG. I may just have to take an extra day off for this year's cave-in to go everywhere I want to cave this year.

Wendy, send me a PM about leading a trip in Blue Spring sometime when you come up to TAG. There are a lot of different trips to be done in that cave.

Cathedral Room-short trip from the entrance, but you see many of the best formations.

JHS traverse-not too many people go to this place for some reason. There is an 1800ft. crawlway to get there(that 1800ft. crawl is a shortcut) and there is a lot of passage to see, maybe a mile and a half one way there.

Crashing Spire Plunge-this is a 150ft. pit that is about 5 miles from the entrance. I think somewhere around 30 people have ever been there. it is mostly walking, except for the 1800ft. crawl and a few smaller crawls. Brian Killingbeck has some pictures from that area, and I think the POC has some pics on their site also.

There is lots more to see in the cave, and lots of caves nearby to make a weekend camping trip out of a Blue Spring trip.

Tony

Hmm, I can think of a couple of caves in Utah that could use that bridge... where can I get more info on it?

Hey Mark, were you involved in the building of the bridge? I think it was a very impressive feat. I happened to visit the cave during the final phase of construction. I was there the last day the "big light" was there. It was all lit up when my group went into the cave (on our way to the Mega Junction) and when we came out the light had been removed.
