Hello, dear speleo Friends!

Greetings from the Balkan Speleological Union, BulgarianSpeleological Federation and SC „Prista”- Ruse, organizers of the Second Balkan photo contest “We and caves”.
It`s January again – and it is time to make a review of the last years photos. Don`t miss the opportunity to get involved in the presentation of the best speleo photos from 2011! In addition to the traditional Balkan participants, our open format contest allows speleologists from all around the world to compete in it. In the last year 98 photographers from 4 continents took part in the contest “We And Caves” whit 495 photos. This impressive participation wouldn’t be possible without you, so we invite you to compete in the 2nd Balkan and 5th national photo contest “We and caves”. We hope this year you will be part of this unique speleophotographers community again, which shows the world the magic and beauty behind the caves and the people who work in them.
The contest conditions are in the attached file. The prices are again speleological and photographic equipment. For more information or the last years photos you can find us in Facebook group We And Caves…”.
We hope it has been a successful year for you as a photographer and you have something to show us. We will be waiting for your photos for the new Balkan Photo Contest "We And Caves".

Second Balkan Photo contest

„We And Caves”

All speleologists and cave friends are invited to send their photographs. Every contestant can participate with up to 8 photos – 4 in the two categories:

1. People underground.
2. Beauty of the caves.

Photographs must be sent by e-mail to we.and.caves@gmail.com until 31.01.2012.
Requirements:
The photographs must be from 2011, and have title, author and place(the cave). All digital files must be 4 MB or smaller, must be in JPEG or JPG format, and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image).
With sending the photographs authors agree that they can be used by the organizers in exhibitions, posters, calendars, advertising materials for popularization of speleology.
The selection committee (consists of 5 people) up to 15th February 2012 will elect the winners: first, second and third place in every category. The best photographs will be awarded with charters and prizes. An exhibition with photographs from the contest will be organized during The Balkan Cavers Camp in Slovenia 2012.
