Olympus has a new "Tough" camera. It can be dropped 6', and is waterproof to 30'.

I recently lost my Olympus Tough in the ocean. Once I got over the heartbreak of losing the photos that were on the card, I had to say "Good Riddance." The Olympus took great pictures outside and underwater, but it was one of the worst cave cameras I have ever owned. If you could get a shot that was free of spots (rare), then you would notice how incredibly grainy the exposure was. Hopefully they have made some dramatic improvements to this latest version. If not, it will be good for closeups but not much else underground.

I've got a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS3 coming for Christmas and I'm really looking forward to trying it in caves. Waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof, GPS (though I don't need it).
