All good guesses but no one has got it yet. Lets have one more hint: Was the site of a later televised cave rescue in 1985.

Donaldson-Bronson System. Another guess as I'm totally lost in the dark here...My car headlight helmet mount drained the batteries too soon and my back-up, PT Apex, went dead again!

Only thru researching thru some books I have! Never been there but would like to someday.

Here's one from PA. that most cavers from that area will know. It has been visited from people from all over the country and maybe even abroad.

 I guess y'all need a hint?

This cave is not heavily visited. In fact, I believe its currently closed because of the dreaded bat funk. It has been visited by a number of Penn State students and alumni. Named after a woman.

Ruth Cave?
Never been caving in PA, but this was the only obviously female name on the state's closed cave list.
 Doesn't hurt to guess, I suppose.

 DING DING DING We have a winner!

As far as I know Ruth Cave is only closed because of WNS. Hopefully it will open back up!
The cave has a little over a mile of passages and is nicely decorated in places. A caver's cave, it has a little of everything. It is gated and access is jointly? controlled by the NSS grottos, Huntingdon County Cave Hunters and the Nittany grotto.

You're turn Trogman!

OK, here you go. This is a photo of my two daughters about 10 years ago in a cave in GA. Actually this is so old that it was taken with a film camera and scanned. I can just hear my grandkids in a few years asking me "What's a film camera, Grandpa?"

hrmmm almost looks like it could be Pettjohns? I can't think of anywhere in particular but I know I've not seen a lot of that cave. It just kinda looks Pettijohnish.

Not Pettijohns; good guess, though. When do I start giving hints? :big grin:
It is a well-known cave that a lot of cavers from all over have been to.

Well damn. I'll just keep random guessing caves in GA then lol.
Howard's Waterfall?
I won't bother guessing Anderson Springs it's not wet enough! So erm...yeah that's the last one I've been to in Georgia.

Actually, I don't think you've been to this one. Any more guesses?
One hint: It has a pit entrance that is between 20 and 60 feet deep.

Yeah I haven't done *any* vertical in Georgia yet. I haven't done *any* vertical cave anywhere, actually. :((( I'll go see if I have any surveys for caves in GA with that kind entrance *runs to check files*

OK looking through my files I"m starting to build up that could be:
Nash Waterfall Cave/Pit
Sloopys Double Drop

...neither have I ever heard of (I was just going through the TAG brochure, heh)
