Hmm, for some reason everyone seems to be under the impression that the cave offered no information concerning bats. I don't know how many of you have ever been there but there was a sign on the left side of the entrance before the gate stating that it was a bat hibernaculum and that they were protected by law. Being locals, they were well aware of the endangered species. It's a sore point when someone says you can't do something to a couple of country boys. Especially if alcohol is involved, then it's all testosterone. There are not many of these signs about, I've only run into 7 but Laurel was one of them. That park area provides a lot of paperwork too, including Ky. cave laws against the basics. :shrug:
