Tucson's Hummingbird Feeder Bats

The Firefly Forest

Late in the summer and early in the fall, especially in years like this one with fewer than normal blooming agaves, nectivorous bats will visit and completely drain hummingbird feeders at night here in Tucson. Some time in early October, these bats will migrate south for the winter.

I agree, way cool and also wishing we had the species here. My (step) mom has a hummingbird feeder outside her kitchen window. It'd be neat to see a bat sipping there as well. SHE might not like it but I think it'd be great. :big grin:

Yeah, those are great pictures. I like the one with the bat's expression saying, "Back off, dood. I'm licking this nectar."
