A COLONY of bats have stalled the building of a multi-million-pound school until they are found new homes.
The protected creatures live in trees which are to be felled to make way for the new Grove Academy in Broughty Ferry, Dundee.
It's part of an £85million public-private project to replace schools in the city.
Nature enthusiast Stan Nutt raised the alarm when the developers moved in.
He said: "The trees that are to be removed are now marked with red crosses and, if bats are found to be inhabiting the trees, they will be rehoused in a roost near Baldovie."
