My daughter just moved from Rhode Island to a house in Eastern Maryland that had been empty for a little while. She has come to learn that there are at least 2 bats (probably little brown bats) that are living in the walls along side the windows (some of the windows do not have finish moulding on the inside). The bats are clearly visible. She's comfortable living with the bats through the remainder of the winter; however, she also has a cat who is really good at catching mice and my daughter is concerned that it's only a matter of time before the cat notices that they aren't alone in the house. On at least one occasion, my daughter believes that she has seen the bats flying around the room when she has the heat on.
The situation seems like a stalemate. My daughter is not in a position to move out and she doesn't want to do anything that puts the bats in jeopardy. Any constructive advice would be appreciated.
