THE world is full of bat enthusiasts - as 2004 Turner Prize winner Jeremy Deller found out when he initiated a competition last June to design a house for the nocturnal mammals.

The Bat House Project, run in conjunction with RIBA Competitions Office and the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), attracted entries from 24 countries.

Those look really neat (and really expensive).
Couldn't find a way to make the pictures bigger ... (ok, ok, being fussy ... but some did bear closer examination)
