2 new in Colorado Springs

Postby SuckinOnSodaStraws » Aug 25, 2009 3:17 pm

Hello, my name is Alex. Recently, my friend Wes and I decided we are fascinated and intrigued by caves so much that we should join the local grotto. We have about 2-3 novice cave experiences from our past years here. Were interested in helping in new cave discoveries, cave protection and research. I myself would like to pursue a career in wildlife and feel this would be a great start and valuable experience. I am a bit confused though, as to where and when the grotto meetings take place for SoCoMoGro. We are eager to learn the correct techniques and meet other cavers in our area. If you have any info on the time and place of the meeting, please post it. Thanks.

Looks like Matt found you the address. We meet upstairs at Jack Quinn's next Wednasday night. The cross street is Colorado at Tejon. Can't miss it with all the construction next door on the street corner. Hope to see you there. We usually have a really good program and a lively bunch of people. :kewl:

There are some great folks down there. Ask about digging in Williams Canyon. Being willing to work is one of the quickest ways underground.

Good people for sure. I enjoyed the meeting and the input. I'll be in touch with a few members and should be on a trip soon enough. Just need some gear...
