Have you contacted the Mountain Empire Grotto yet? They are from the Tri-Cities area and meet once a month. They are very active and I'm sure would welcome a new caver.

Yes, actually I was at there classroom training session in febuary, but had just had surgery and couldnt do the vertical training the next day. Im actually friends with Don Feathers, a long time member of the grotto. I will be paying my dues and joining up at the next meeting. Cant wait to get on rope with them.

With this many cavers contributing I'm sure you'll find the answer to several (if not all ) your questions.
