Hi from downunder

G'day all,

Guess its time to introduce myself.
As you may have worked out, I'm from Australia. I am currently working as an outdoor leader instructor, and teach Abseiling, Caving, Canyoning (Canyoneering in your speak), Climbing and Backcountry Skiing.
Its pretty tough doing your hobby for your job, but I manage :big grin:
I have been caving on and off now for about 20 years, but have yet to get into some caves outside of Oz.

Looking forward to some interesting chats on these boards!

Welcome, Mick,

What part of down under are you in? I have lots of friends and relatives there.
Even visited there myself, once. A long time ago.

Living near Sydney at the moment, but expect to move to Melbourne by next year.

Where abouts are you guiding people caving? A friend used to guide caving at Bungonia I suspect that's where most of the guiding stuff happens some out at Wee Jasper as well, who do you cave with in Sydney SUSS? SSS? Hills? I'm in Canberra myself with NUCC (ANU Caving Club).

At the moment all the guiding is being done at both Bungonia and Wee Jasper. I am currently not with any Club (Grotto), as the impending move makes it non-viable. I will look at VSS when I am down there :woohoo: .
