Hello from Chattanooga

Postby viablex1 » Oct 25, 2019 2:24 pm

I am a nerd but went on my first caving for real with a former Grotto Chair locally and did some photography. I am very intrigued and I believe I eventually want to join and then learn about pit caves but do not want to get ahead of myself.
Thanks

You may find that cave photography is a whole new skill to learn.

Hello Viablex1, and welcome to the forum!
You are in one of the most active areas of the country in terms of cavers and caves. TN, AL, and GA combined have over 15,000 known caves, and more new ones being found all the time.
There are several active grottoes in the Chattanooga area as well. The best way to find out where the good caves are is to link up with a grotto and go on some of their caving trips.
Cave photography is rather challenging compared to most other types of photography. Just hauling the gear into a lot of caves is very difficult, not to mention lighting.
Happy caving!
