hi everybody im new, stumbled on some caves in the area interested in exploring at some point anyone in the syracuse area know of the less spoken of caves in the area? pretty sure theyre on private property which is why im seeking the knowledge instead of just scoping them out like a jackwagon. really interested in the early history of them which is quiet a project seeking anything more than a general description or hint.

Hey there New Caver! You should contact your local caving grotto. They should be able to help you out. Here is a list of NY grottos
Helderberg-Hudson Grotto
Met Grotto
Niagara Frontier Grotto
Rensselaer Outing Club
Shawangunk-Catskill Area Grotto
Syracuse University Outing

Good luck!

And once the NSS Webpage is fixed, the grotto finder file can show you the city that each of those grottoes are in. Welcome! :cavingrocks:

Great! As you probably already discovered, they have a web page:

http://suoc.syr.edu/

And they have a Facebook group.

Be forewarned though, caving is HIGHLY Addictive! :cavingrocks: :bat sticker:
