Hi fellow cavers. I have lived in Dominican Republic for the past 9 years. I am and an adventure guide canyoneering, caving, kayaking, and SUP. There are quite a bit of caves to explore in Dominican Republic. The Pre-Columbian people of the Caribbean, the Tainos, believed caves is where all life on the planet came from and all souls enter the next life through. Caves were used in rituals and the left paintings and carvings in caves as part of their ceremonies. I have researched a lot about caves here as well as the role the played in the past native peoples' lives. I'm looking forward to being part of this caving community and hopefully share some about Caribbean caving.
