Hey folks,

I am a Canadian who started caving by looking for a PhD project with a guy working on cavefishes... I'm more of an arthropod guy, and upon discovering that cave pseudoscorpions could be had and are, well, awesome, I decided to choose them as my dissertation subject. I started caving in 2012 and joined the NSS shortly thereafter. I haven't joined a grotto as the scope of my project - revising the taxonomy of two genera - means I intend on visiting a few hundred caves in northern Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Indiana, and Ohio. Not really sure if there's a grotto that works for what I'm doing - anyone have tips on this? Also, if there's anyone interested in coming along on my pseudoscorpion-hunting adventures and can endure the slow pace of a biologist, they are absolutely welcome to come with me! I'll be caving the most in the Appalachians from May 2014 through December 2015. Feel free to send me a PM or email.

Cheers,

Charles
