I hail from minnesota. I'm a bit of a research nerd and found information on caves exploring a completely different subject but became very interested. i've visited the tour caves here in minnesota, as well as one or two others on the nss register as well as a couple in illinois and iowa. My main point of interest was once hard rock mines but lately i've been loving natural rock formations.

I hope to contribute and learn what i can from all of you, cheers.

:waving: Welcome!

Where do you live? Are you within rage of a grotto? http://www.nssio.org/Find_Grotto.cfm That's the best way to go caving and learn about techniques, geology, and the rest.

Hello!

Ask for the head park ranger at Mystery Cave in Minnesota. If you are at all interested in mapping caves, he usually has a survey group going out once a month.

Just south of the Minnesota border in NE Iowa is Coldwater Cave. You'll need a thick wetsuit for this one, but it is an amazing place. Contact the Iowa Grotto for more info.
