Hello Folks,

Longtime caver, first time poster. I came across this wonderful site as I scoured the interweb for caving info. It seems like a well put together society and I thought I would drop in on the party.

First of all, I live in Jackson Wyoming and enjoy every type of outdoor recreating possible. This time of year when the snow is melting and everything else turn to mud I like to head south and visit the desert. Canyons, climbing you name it I love it. I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where there weren't many caves but plenty of things to explore. Old mines, rock quarries, culverts...needless to say my brother and I were never overly hesitant to squeeze ourselves into somewhere tight, wet or slimy. Upon moving west I started stumbling across new things to explore. Long story short, I ended up in my first proper cave in Carlsbad, NM. My GF and I took the guided "Special" tour into an amazing area and ended up chatting up some guys that were their from Kansas that afterwards took us out to the Ranch Caves south of the park and from there I caught the caving bug. Whenever I'm headed somewhere new I always try to find some info on caves in the area. It isn't always easy, but it is always fun.

I look forward to participating and maybe bumping into some of you underground!
