Hey everyone!!! Glad I have found this board containing many motivated cavers :) I’m apart of windy City Grotto and a new member to the NSS. Also working on my Full Cave Certification for cave diving by the summer time. I’ve been going through some caves in AZ, IN, IA (coldwater cave! rocks), and started on Puerto Rico caves too. I am looking forward to meeting some wonderful cavers to go caving with!! Anyone else from the Chicagoland location?

Welcome aboard!

:kewl:

I'm on the Illinois side of the Quad Cities. So far I mainly hang out at Coldwater Cave and Mystery in Minnesota.

Just got my open water dive certificate last summer, and I hope to go advanced this spring, so maybe I'll see you underground or underwater (or eventually both at once).

Thank you for the welcomes :).....I am actually thinking about going to coldwater jan 21st if the conditons are right with mark jones, when was the last time you were in cold water? I havent been to mystery yet but planning on that sometime soon. A few of us are planning on going to bonne terre mine in missouri which is very interesting for OW and up too.

It's been three or so months since my last trip to Coldwater. It was my first trip far downstream. Went to the little waterfall that marks the start of the sinus passage. Jan 21 sounds good, I need to get back up there.

Mystery is awesome. Big passages, underground lakes, tall canyons, tight spots- whatever you like. The current project involves remapping the whole place, so there's plenty to do up there. Survey trips usually go out once a month.

I just did a google image search on bonne terre mine. That place looks incredible.

Bad timing on that snowstorm near Coldwater... or did some of you brave the weather and head up?

I sure didn't make it. Maybe next month.
