Newly addicted!

So I just recently went on my second caving trip and have been officially hooked.

Both trips have been to a cave in north west Georgia called Byers Cave. The first trip I probably bit off more than I could chew. Apparently Byers is not a good beginners cave and I learned that the hard way. I told myself I wouldn't do that again but a few months passed and I was itching to go back. The second time around I was prepared for what lied ahead and really enjoyed myself.

I want to really explore Byers cave and possibly others in the future. From what I have read about Byers cave the group of guys I have been going with are going about it the hard way by rappelling down the pit to get to the big room and then ascending out of the same spot.

Hopefully I will meet some people and find a grotto to join one I get more familiar with everything. There is so much info here and I have not even scratched the surface.

Mike

Welcome to TAG caving, Smeg! When you get tired of Byers, there are another ~14,999 caves nearby to explore.

Yes, Cavemud. You do need to move to TAG. I can keep you busy digging on blowing cave leads (those fun drilling kind) for quite awhile. Plus I've got three good sized caves that need surveying, and I have access to some properties with some TAG Classic Caves and Pits worth visiting. I'm sure there are lots of willing customers for your cave equipment business here in TAG as well.

Thanks for the replies.

I guess I will consider myself lucky for being in this area. Hopefully I will get to explore many of the great places around here with some help of those here!
