NEW TO CAVING

Postby aavery78 » May 8, 2010 2:20 pm

I'm new to caving my friend and i have been twice this month to Pettyjohn's cave at crockford pigeon Mnt.
all we have are Energizer head lamps from Wal-Mart. We both love it would like to do it more but don't know much
about caving and what kind of equipment we need and no one to go with us that knows the cave.
Would like to go to waterfall and some other key points at PJ. Also on a tight budget like $20 every 2 weeks. We both live in
Chatsworth,GA .So any one that can help us out.Just so any one can to let you Know how far we have been. went down 30ft
mud climb trying to go to waterfall but went left and stopped at next 30ft climb up and turned around.
Thanks for any help. :cavingrocks:

Welcome to the forum. :waving:

I moved your post here to caver introductions. There a bunch of folks on the forum who cave around that area, so I'm sure somebody will hook you up. :woohoo:

I recommend joining your local grotto, and buying some helmets (in that order).

Check out this post for more info.

You can find local caving groups to contact by using the grotto finder.
