here is a brief article from the April, 2009 Arkansas Underground regarding the importance of cross-sections, particularly complex cross-sections instead of the easy (gutless) ones.

Excellent article except now I am compelled to do several dozen difficult cross sections in various caves that I can't go back to right away...but some day soon. Thanks for the link.
