Finally got to use this in a cave. Overall, it worked quite well. It got much better readings at distance (100'+) than the Disto Lite 5 that I had tried a couple years ago.

Construction: A bit on the light side for caving. We'll see how it holds up over time. NOT waterproof at all. Size seems fine. It's smaller than older Distos, but not as small as the newer models(Bosch, Disto A3, etc).

Batteries: 2 AA's. Looks like it will run on the batteries a long time.

Cons:
Measure button is difficult to press.
Always starts up in Ft-In mode instead of the last mode it was in.
The shape is 'ergonomic' instead of square. If it had been square, a digital clinometer would have been much easier to attach to it.

I got a very good deal(eBay...$45) and I don't cave in wet caves, so I'm happy with it. :woohoo:
Caves are rare and precious things. Cavers...even more so. Treat each accordingly.
NSS#42385(not current...give me a reason to change...(Sept 2010))
