symbol cheat sheet

Hi Lucas,
what I have done in the past is to choose whichever symbols that I _didn't_ know and write them on a piece of paper smaller than the pages of my survey book. You can use both sides. You might want to include some selected values of the cosine function so you can sketch to scale. Then I laminated it and punched holes in it so it fit in my book. Since it's laminated you only need to do this once, but it will survive multiple cave trips. Eventually you won't need it any more. Good Luck.

There's a pretty good cheat sheet of symbols in the front and back of "On Station", and it's a good reference if you are new to surveying. Ditto on laminating the cheat sheet for the survey book as well. My regular "book" partner made up a couple of these that fit in our survey packs quite nicely. He's using Auriga now, so he doesn't use it so much anymore, but I'm still a paper person - I'm not very quick yet with them fancy dancy new tiny computer boxes....

Happy surveying!

I have an one-page "cheat sheet," but I don't know if I can get it small enough to load.

Here goes...Image
