Trivia Question:

Does anyone out there happen to remember what SMAPS was an acronym for?

I used SMAPS (for some reason I think it was pronounced "Ess Maps") for many many years. If memory serves, it is an acronym for Survey Manipulation and Plotting Software. That's my final answer. Boy, that was w-a-a-a-y back in the DOS days! I still have a version on 5.25 floppy disk. Wonder what Doug Dotson is up to?

The SMAPS 5.1 manual does not explain the acronym.
The SMAPS 4.1 manual does not explain the acronym.
However, the SMAPS manual has the title::

Survey Manipulation, Analysis and Plotting System

(SMAPS)

User's Manual

(sorry, the title should be centered in the page)
