inventory form

Postby rl23455 » Dec 3, 2015 5:36 am

Does anyone have a standardized form they use for cave inventory they want to share? Looking for a printable format that can help people check off cave inventory items such as graffiti, formations, biological items, etc.

thanks,

Hi,

I don't have a form handy, but you may want to check with Stan Allison (stan_allison@nps.gov) at Carlsbad Caverns National Park. He has such forms for Lechuguilla and he might be able to provide you with a Word file.

I have a Word file for the Carlsbad Cavern National Park Cave Inventory Form. I have made it available here: http://wiki.lubbockareagrotto.org/InventoryForm.docx.

Stan Allison is no longer working at Carlsbad Caverns National Park.

I decided to convert the docx to pdf: http://wiki.lubbockareagrotto.org/InventoryForm.pdf since not everyone has Word. It is designed to be printed on both sides, landscape. When done this way, it can be folded in half to make a booklet.

Also, I have been developing a guide to help in completing the form which others have contributed to. It can be found here: http://wiki.lubbockareagrotto.org/Cave%20Inventory.pdf. Be aware, it is large.

thanks for the responses. this will help immensely. We are doing a project for Mt. St. Helens' Ape Cave. The cave is estimated to get some 200,000 visits a year and there has been abuse. We are creating an inventory of graffiti and trash so the FS can determine how effective cleanup is and what other methods will be needed help the cave.

Probably not quite what you are looking for, but the BCSF has a standard form for cave inventory linked from the page here: http://cancaver.ca/bcsf/bcsfcommitt.htm
