"Non-Magnetic" Batteries

Postby caver.adam » Oct 8, 2012 8:48 am

Does anyone have any experience with so called "non-magnetic" batteries? I found this link to a manufacturer that claims to build lithium-polymer batteries without any fero-magnetic materials. I'm interested in this for digital compass applications of course.

Anyone with experience or links to data I would very much appreciate any help.

I emailed with the company a while ago, very helpful.
The foil within this battery is different from the normal LiPo.
Also the contacts are copper.
Powerstream have made this special batch as an experiment to see whether they get adopted for use in equipment to be used with patients whilst within an MRI. So they should be non-magnetic.

I intended to order a few samples plus one of their chargers but have yet to get around to it.

Maybe easier for someone state-side to check them out ??

I keep meaning to get my project off the ground "on one of my free weeekends". Unfortunately a free weekend never happens. I will have to schedule a weekend. I'm thinking I may order several of these to compare to the standard LiPoly battery I have.
