Ya, if you stop your -10 % nonsense. It is your personal problem. Therion is normal software package for documentation of cave, cave systems and karst areas. It is more complicated as simple map drawing packages. But produce more complex results. That is all. To mention Therion is as legal as mention Walls, Compass, OnStation, Survex, Toporobot, Visual Topo, etc.

Jeff - In that recent SurvX topic YOU were the one who first brought up Therion (in a negative context). Not Martin. You can't really blame him for replying and defending his favorite product.

Entirely untrue: the first response in the SurvX thread was Martin Sluka telling the original poster that Therion was more user-friendly, and less rocket-science, than Survex.

Forgive my lack of patience, but I've grown tired of not being able to post anything in this forum, nor respond to anything in this forum, without being Therion-bombed. This has gone on for several years now, unabated.

I stand corrected. I only saw the replies on the most recent page, and forgot to click to the original two posts on the first page. My apologies.

this summer and it will get your mind off Therion. We stopped surveying in some big passage last summer and there is a formation
area ahead and some more big passages and another couple of pits. I guarantee you one of those pits is still virgin. And if you want to show us how hardcore you are, there are plenty of crawls still waiting to be surveyed.

Dear friend, if somebody here try to solve a problem which is solved (but magical therion) may I add the note about this or not?
If somebody is looking for software to draw maps may I add the note, or not?
etc.

And, really, create 3D model of cave from data with LRUD is trivial in therion too.

Thomas Holder created extensions to Inkscape which able to open and save (new files too) drawings as .th2 files. Mostly all Therion functions work excluding areas and attributes to line points. You may prepare complete scrap in Inkscape (with live preview) and finish it in therion.
