MORE NEWS FROM BEAT!!!!

"Sorry for the endless delays.
I now have a new prototype board which seems to work quite well.
However, I just made out a new problem: There are two versions of
the Leica DXT around. They differ in the layout of their main board
and the only way to sort them out is to open the case. The current
extension board only fits the older variant.
In addition I cannot find antimagnetic screws to replace the steel
screws used to fix the case.
So I still need some time...

Just to make this clear:
There is no need to reach a limit of 50 boards for the new design.
I have by far enough interest for the new board anyway.
The 50 board limit was for the missing parts used to make another
batch of the old board.

Regards

Beat"

I have asked Beat if we should go ahead and purchase the old DXT instead of the new one to make his job easier. I also asked him what size the screw is for the old one and he will get back to me on this. If any of you know what size screw the old DXT has please post it to this site so we can all help look for a non-magnetic version. Not too bad considering he's basically only one screw away.

Looks like Beat has gotten enough interest on the outside to account for our what we are missing and then some. I'm glad that part's over with! Now we just set back and wait on the news! :toast:

Excellent! As some of you may have noticed, I have not counted myself. So I would like to add one board for myself as well. This makes 49 boards. As you will or have read in my above post, we no longer need 50 boards. Instead you may just go right ahead and send Beat Heeb a message when I give the go ahead. I dont want anyone bothering him right now as he is working on the new DistoX. However, I obviously cant stop you lol.

"The screws are so called "Delta PT" screws 2.0 x 12."

Let's see if we can find these in a non-magnetic version. Please let me know if you find a location or think you've found a location.

Does anyone on here have a Disto210XT handy that they wouldnt mind opening and taking a picture of the inside? Mine is 3 hours away from my current position and will still be there 2 weeks from now. Beat wants to compare this Disto to the regular DXT that he has and see if they are the same build.

This is redundant but Sau is a for sure buyer so that puts us at 50 boards!! We reached our goal even though we didnt have to anymore!! I'm glad Beat has some other people lined up to order as well. It will make it even more worth his while! I guess Beat will have his work cut out for him in the coming weeks.

Beat Heeb is the maker of the Disto X and he is only making boards for the Disto DXT. He is not making boards for neither the A3 or the D3. If you want one for the DXT just let us know.

So after I started reading this thread (it's LONGGGGGGGGGGGG), it was hard to read the whole thing. Do we send him a Disto, or does he start afresh? There was a price wildly guestimated early on. What's the story with it now?
