The NSS needs your help!
Are you a firm believer in the goals of the NSS? Would you like to get involved with in managing the Society at the national level? Do you have management experience? If so, consider becoming a candidate for Director of the Society
This spring, the NSS membership will again elect 4 directors for a 3-year term. New directors will assume their responsibilities at the Board meeting during the 2009 NSS Convention.
Twelve directors make up the Directorate, which with the 5 officers manage the Society as the Board of Governors. The primary duties of the Board include setting policies and strategies for conducting the Society's business, and approving the operating budget. The Directorate elects the Society's officers.
The Directors are expected to attend 3 Board meetings a year, one of which occurs during Convention. Additional time commitments include preparing for the meetings and discussing issues that arise throughout the year with the rest of
the Board, generally through e-mail.
