NSS Library

Postby Dave Luckins » Dec 2, 2012 11:45 am

We need some help with the new office.

The NSS Library currently has about 2000 linear feet of shelving. When we move into the new building we would like to have 7000 linear feet to accommodate anticipated donations of some significant private collections. We can install more linear shelving and gain quite a bit, but the only way we can get to 7000 feet is to go with roller shelving.

New roller shelving will cost $200,000 and we’re not going to spend that kind of money (even if we had it).

We know many university and public libraries are currently upgrading their systems and that may provide an opportunity for us to get what we want at the right price.
If your university or public library is planning an upgrade please let me know and we’ll see if they’re willing to work with us.

Hmmm..the Wilmington Library is currently undergoing an extensive renovation. I'll check tomorrow to see what's up.
