Problem with Cavchat PMs

Postby tagkycaver » Dec 5, 2013 6:16 am

Does anyone know why my outgoing PMs seem to sit in my outbox for days, sometimes forever, without transmitting? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thnaks

Because they haven't been read. I asked a similar question a while back. Your messages move from the outbox to the sent folder when the recipient opens them.

I never noticed them. I used to get emails when a message came in, but don't any longer. The unopened messages is not real obvious to me, and without the reminder in email, never looked. There must be a setting that changed. Apologies.

I sent a PM to someone a couple of years ago and it is still sitting in my outbox, unopened. I guess it wasn't that important!

I used to get emails when a message came in, but don't any longer.

Click "user control panel" in a light blue bar at the top of every page. Then click the "board preferences" tab. See if "Notify me on new private messages" is marked "yes." If not, click the circle.

If "yes" was checked, then click the "profile" tab and make sure the email address listed is your current one.

If "yes" was checked and your email address is current, maybe the messages are being nabbed as spam. Whitelist messages from @caves.org (I think address is forums@caves.org, but someone correct me if I'm wrong) so they slip through spam filters. Then have someone send you a PM and see if you receive a notice (in either your in box or spam/junk box).
