If NSS publications were available electronically what would you do?

I may be the one who originally brought up this possibility, from the point of view of an ex-caver living in a foreign country who finds the current postage rates for foreign delivery excessively high.

I may be an ex-caver, but I certainly would enjoy reading the NEWS, less so the other pubs, but I would rejoin the NSS nad gratefully pay a reasonable dues if pubs were available electronically.

Thanks for creating the poll.

Best wishes,
Mike

Since we already create and archive 3-5mb PDF's of the NEWS I really can't see any valid reason NOT to offer this option at least for the NEWS.......
I'm not scared of the dark, it's the things IN the dark that make me nervous. :)

I agree hopefully even if there is no immediate drop in dues at least make it an option for the members who would like to see it and that way we see the potential savings by how many subscribers there are then we can determine if it is indeed a good investment. The NSS would not lose any money immediately from it and it holds the potential to save money later.

I have always felt a means to opt out of paper copies of the publications we recieve would be an excellent idea. Firstly I feel it helps indirectly support the societies goal by reducing paper usage (hence reduces run-off into caves) and secondly I see the NSS News eating up a large portion of our membership dues, which I know everyone would agree could be going to other worthwhile pursuits ie the WNS fund. I for one would opt for an electronic copy.
