NSS Speleo Digest Chairman Needed

The Speleo Digest is one of Society’s most important publications. Speleo Digests are an annual compilation of articles on caves and caving published in grotto newsletters from around the United States. Speleo Digest Committee Chairman Scott Fee has done an outstanding job overseeing the production of over a decade of the Speleo Digest. Regrettably, Scott has decided to step down, and move on to other projects. I want to thank him for his time, talent, and effort.

The Speleo Digest Chairman, who reports directly to the NSS Executive Vice President, will be responsible for managing and coordinating committee members who will be performing the complete production process, including: gathering the text, photos, and information; editing material; completing the layout and design, and arranging the printing and shipping.

The candidate needs to be self-motivated, a good communicator, and be able to work independently, lead a committee of volunteers, organize tasks, take initiative, and work towards goals. The chairman will write a short status report on the committee's activities three times a year for inclusion in the Executive Vice President's report to the Board.
