International Journal of Speleology - Call
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: 2 Feb. 2007.
Dear cave scientist,
the International Journal of Speleology has now started it's journey to get listed in ISI. This process will lead, hopefully, to the Citation Index and Impact Factor before we will all meet in Kerrville, USA, at the International Speleological Congress.
To be able to reach our goal we have to meet three main requirements:
- timeliness of publication
- high quality and diversity (topics, internationality of authorship and studied areas) of papers
- high citation indexes
Therefore, as Editor-in-Chief of the journal I am asking all potential authors to consider publication of their high quality papers in the International Journal of Speleology. All depends on the quality and quantity of papers that will be submitted to the Journal.
There is no (and never will be) a real deadline for submission of papers, but in order to get the issues ready in time articles for the next issue (36(2)) to be printed in June 2007 (online version and sent to subscribers in July 2007) should arrive within' the end of March 2007.
We remember that high quality is ensured by sending all papers for peer reviewing to at least two (sometimes 3) independent reviewers, experts in the field, and peer reviewing, correction of papers, typesetting and paper proof correction of selected papers takes its time.
If the cave science society wants to count more in the scientific world this challenge has to be supported in the best possible way.
Best greetings
Jo De Waele
