Anyone have a copy of the 91 guidebook they'd like to sell? :-)

That's the NY one, right?

There's one the NSS ought to consider reprinting (or letting the NRO people reprint). Lots of people who have started caving since then never had the opportunity to purchase it (and i should have bought 20 - would have sold them at a tidy profit!)

Check with Emily Mobley at Speleobooks, there is a link to her store on the main NSS webpage.
She's found me some out-of-print stuff before.

I spoke to them Saturday at the SWBM, and the NSS lists guidebooks back to 1990. I assume you tried them first.

1991 Guidebook

Postby Larry E. Matthews » Feb 6, 2007 2:42 pm

$20 ?????

It probably cost that much new in 1991. You don't get rare, out-of-print items for nothing.

Good luck !!!

Dunbar Cave

Postby Larry E. Matthews » Feb 6, 2007 8:23 pm

This is an abrupt change of direction for this dialogue, but.......

Yes, I do want the Dunbar Cave data.

Between your new explorations and mapping and the new information on the Indian Glyphs, I want to keep up with this, then, in a couple of years it may be time to revise and update the Dunbar Cave book.

The Indian Glyphs, alone, would be a major new chapter and lots and lots of photographs to add to the book.

Honestly we've moved and I hadn't thought about it till I saw your post! I'm still working on the digital map, kinda been sidetracked, but I'll get the trip reports put together and send it your way. Also the D4 entrance is now closed and most likely will stay that way.

I got mine the old fashioned way: found someone with the guidebook, and photocopied it off him. 1991 is the last year the guidebook included driving directions to the caves, if I remember right: those driving directions are worth the cost of admission alone.

I was more high tech and scanned my copy into PDF. Thank god as my paper version went the way of the wind during a move.
