I don't know where the printer is located, but I don't think it is necessarily anywhere near Huntsville. The editor is in California, afterall. I imagine the printer is somewhere where the NSS found someone who is fairly reasonable in price and doesn't make too many mistakes.

I believe it is printed in Mexico by NSS Caver Terry Raines.

I suspect it is bulk mailed from Texas but never gave it much thought.

No January issue for us in Birmingham as of yet.

You gotta be kiddin' me!! In Mexico? Why there? Just because of price? That sucks.

Are you serious?

Man, I should never post after a few beers

Ok - Terry lives in Texas. I believe it is printed in Texas! I don't know why I got Mexico on the brain. Weird. I will ask our Editor though.

Got mine on Saturday. We may be a bit backward in Kansas but at least the mail works, usually.
Another fine issue, I say.

Scott was right, at least the second time. The news is printed by caver Terry Raines and mailed from Austin Texas (since August of '96). One good thing about that location is that it is fairly central and helps get things out to the coasts about the same time frame. But the vagaries of second-class mail are such that indeed, someone that lives a few miles away in a different zip code may get theirs a few days before someone else. I believe it can be as much as two weeks difference from the first to last recipients. We try to have it in the mails by the 24th of the month preceding.

It always takes multiple and several weeks for the NEWS to clear Texas and Missouri customs. I think someone reads it along the way.

Got mine last Friday. Great issue. I really loved that one shot in China of the cable and the bicycle contraption they use to cross. I was wondering if that was the same cable that is picture on the back of the NSS News (same issue)?
