New Book: "Confederate Niter District Seven: East Tennessee"

Marion O. Smith has a NEW book out: "Confederate Niter District Seven: East Tennessee." It is dated 2012 and is Bulletin No. 6 of the Tennessee Cave Survey. It is 54 pages long, Soft Bound, and the cost is $6.00, plus shipping.

This is the third in a series by Marion. He published a report on Alabama (Districts Nine and Ten) in 2007 and another report on Northwest Georgia and Middle Tennessee (District Eight) in 2011.

Like all such publications by Marion, this publication is a historian's dream-come-true, with amazing data from the Civil War, copies of newspaper clippings, copies of letters, photographs, payrolls, maps, and wonderful stories straight from the Civil War. All of this is carefully footnoted so that the researcher knows the source of all this information and can go directly there, if needed.

So far, I do not see this listed by the NSS Bookstore, but hopefully, they will have it soon. I'm sure Marion will have it available at the Tennessee Cave Survey's Spring Meeting on April 6, if you are there.
