Grant County WVASS Bulletin

Postby George Dasher » Nov 5, 2010 9:49 am

The West Virginia Speleological Survey recently (OTR 2010) published the Caves and Karst of Grant County.

The bulletin is 120 pages long and contains descriptions, maps, and pictures of 90 caves and 18 karst springs.

The cost is $15, and can be ordered from Ray Garton (garton@mammoth-geo.com; 304-822-6788)

Grant County is located in eastern West Virginia, adajcent to Pendleton County, and is in the heart of the Ridge and Valley. It is a very beautiful area, with the karst mostly limited to mountainside exposures.

Wow! 90 caves is a vast improvement from the 20 or so caves in the Davies book. Excellent work! Hope I get a chance to see it soon.

Bob: I honestly don't know if that price includes shipping, but I suspect not. Please contact Ray and ask him.
