One correction in the explanation in paragraph 4, sole not soul. Like it though. The more this information is out there correctly the better.

Spell checkers, just never trust them. Try this phrase: Due you sea a dear hear. Won't even check the grammar. Too many times they burn me. Readers Digest had an article about the lack of spelling and grammar and people not taking the time or caring to correct the errors. Of course texting has also had an adverse affect.

I'd add a pee bottle to the list. A whistle and a watch or something to tell time with is also a good idea. One point I try to drive home in my safety speach is to tell someone where you are going and when you plan to be home. :kewl:
