We have a web page on the National Speleological Society Youth Group Liaison Committee (http://www.caves.org/youth/) web page about Boy Scouts and caving (http://www.caves.org/youth/bsa_caving.shtml). I have several articles on the blog "YOUCave" http://youcave.blogspot.com/ about BSA and caving. I am a member of BSA and NSS and this is what I have experience with. I would like to start covering in the same fashion Girl Scouts and caving, but all my information is just what I’ve found and read about. I have had no practical experience with taking Girl Scouts caving and I’m not a member of GSUSA.
I am looking for a volunteer(s) to write, or help write, about GSUSA and caving. I would prefer someone that is running a GSUSA caving program or has taken his or her Girl Scout Troop or SU caving. Someone who is directly involved with the GSUSA program and understands and can help with Safety Wise questions and issues would be ideal. It does not have to be just one person writing all of this. If you have a specific experience about Girl Scouts and caving that you would like to share, I would be very happy to work with you on posting your experiences. I would like to have articles that other Girl Scout leaders will read and think, "I can do this. I can take my girls caving", even if they are not comfortable with outdoor activities.
Please feel free to distribute this request to anyone that you feel may be interested.
