Headlamp on woot (one-day only)

Postby anti-jeff » Mar 11, 2009 1:57 pm

There's a headlamp on woot today, and I've been looking for a cheap backup and wondering if anyone had anything to say about this headlamp....
Any input would be welcome.

This item will only be on woot one day, so if it's no longer a headlamp, you're too late. Shucks.

Lots of good info here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/sho ... p?t=127394

I have no experience with this light, other than you get what you pay for.

One of my grottos has a few of these on our loaner helmets. They seem work ok and the review on the candlepower forums is a good description. For occasional use they've held up pretty well.
You might find them cheaper in a wal/k-mart type store. I doubt I paid more than $15 for them, which is what they'll cost you through woot when you add shipping.

I had a garrity 1 w handheld flashlight. I only got to use it once though. I took in on a really wet trip and dunked multiple times, and messed it up. Even after I took it apart and dried it, it still didnt work right. The beam on it was nice, and I liked it overall. I would say that it seems like an ok deal though, ecspecially for a backup light that you wont be using and abusing all the time.

He's Anti-Jeff becuase I told him the grotto wasn't big enough for a Jeff Bartlett AND a Jeff Bridgman. I had tenure on "Jeff B," so usually we fight nearly to the death and then go out for chinese food.

We actually cave together all the time, too. Lots of chinese food.
